Sonic started as a root beer stand in Oklahoma in 1953. Since then it grew to have high brand name recognition and is #5 on The Foursquare Loyalty Index (2018) - after Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, McDonald’s, and Chick-fil-a - and has shown in an increase in loyalty year over year. However, loyalty and love has not helped them keep up with the growing fast food/quick-serve restaurant (QSR) industry.
What We Found
Sonic Drive-In is where fast food meets fast casual. While Sonic’s look and feel is iconic, it doesn’t entice people.
